Visitors to the Baltimore Peninsula can shop local and lace up roller skates for Black Friday and into the holidays.The marketplace is open with more than 30 Black-owned businesses and creatives offering deals for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.”Tomorrow is Small Business Saturday, so we always try to make sure that we have these events to make sure that people are coming out while they’re getting those deals — those Best Buy deals, those Target deals — that they’re also supporting these local Black-owned businesses,” said Bronte Baker, with The Locals Baltimore.The Locals Baltimore is working in collaboration this weekend with Roller Wave, which has set up a roller-skating rink at the Baltimore Peninsula as a fun way to spend the weekend with the whole family while also supporting small businesses.”This is a shopping experience. So, you can come in and shop, you can grab a drink from the bar, we have a kids’ area, so, literally, it’s a family friendly environment. We have everything from clothes to shoes, to home goods. We have a Realtor here that’s ready to talk to you if you’re ready to buy a house,” Baker said.The market is free and open from 2-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
