The Love Behind Sync Seattle: Bringing Together Seattle’s Black Community

Sync Seattle is the fastest-growing Black Seattle networking and social group in the area.

Tanise and Derrick Love have dedicated themselves to creating new opportunities for Black Seattle to thrive and prosper with several events every month that bring the community together and create a brighter future for the Black community of Seattle.

The couple met in Charlotte, S.C. while doing community work at a non-profit. Helping others is their shared mission in life. Sync Seattle began in November 2020 during the pandemic, when Tanise and Derrick relocated to Seattle and saw the need for a space for Black Seattle to come together.

The Loves decided to host an event at their home and expected to have 20 people. Well, 75 people attended. In an instant, they knew they needed to create an organization that would offer more opportunities to socialize and come together.

Sync Seattle has organically grown over the last few years. They have a newsletter that goes out to 1,400 individuals, building a large, dedicated social media following. Sync Seattle welcomes first-time joiners, while celebrating every person who attends their events, since this organization is designed to feel like family.

There is a sense of community and belonging with Sync Seattle, where many people can find their new best friend or business partner and celebrate Black excellence in Seattle while learning about a new Black-owned brand or restaurant.

Sync Seattle is dedicated to holding a safe and consistent place for Black Seattle by hosting several monthly events. They feature Black-led non-profits and Black-owned businesses during their incredible events, such as Sunday Funday, Vibes after 5, and much more. All of these experiences are held with positive intention, with the goal of inspiring Seattle’s Black community, and creating room for new community partners.

The Loves feel humbled and grateful for the opportunity to help one person, let alone so many. The growing Sync Seattle team includes incredible experience curators dedicated to helping Seattle’s Black community come together and thrive.

Keep up with Sync Seattle via their newsletter and Instagram page.
